Reunion 2009 Report

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE 2009 BI-ANNUAL REUNION CONFERENCE OF THE ALUMNI FELLOWSHIP OF THE EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN UNION, OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY, ILE-IFE HELD FROM OCTOBER 23 – 25, 2009 AT ODUDUWA HALL, OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY, ILE-IFE.
1.0 Preamble: The 2009 bi-annual Reunion Conference of the Alumni fellowship of the Evangelical Christian Union, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife held from Friday,October 23 to Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The theme of the Conference was “Doing His Business”.
2.0 Choice of New National Executive: The new National Executive members chosen to run the affairs of the Alumni Fellowship for the next two years (2009 -2011) are:

President      -      Bro. Sola Olayanju
Vice President      -      Bro. Bayo Olotu
Secretary General      -      Bro. Ayo Adedeji
Asst. Secretary General      -      Bro. Niran Oluwaranti
Financial Secretary      -      Sis. Toyin Oyeniran
Treasurer Sis.      -      Bukola Oluwaranti
PRO      -      Bro. Samson Adekunle
Reunion Coordinator      -      Bro. Biyi Adesina
Ex-Officio      -      Bro. Tope Oni

3.0 Ministrations:
3.1 Ministers: We were richly blessed through the ministration of the word by Bro. Sunday Isehunwa, Rev. Kunle Salami and Bro. Barine Gbosi. ECU Choir and ECU Drama Subgroups also ministered to us.
3.2 Seminars: We were treated to rich and insightful topics in Real Estate, Selling, Agriculture Business and Enterpreneurship . Our Seminar Speakers were Bro. Godwin Banigo, Ayo Adedeji, Barine Gbosi and Tunji Adigun.

4.0 Strategic Decisions from Business Session:

4.1 Bus Project: In light of the advice from the Student Fellowship, it was agreed that the Alumni Fellowship should buy a brand new Toyota Hiace Bus and a Pick-up Van (tokunbo) for the Student Fellowship. These are more manageable and relevant to the present needs of the Student Fellowship than the Toyota Coaster Bus which was the original plan. The budget for these acquisitions is six million naira (N6,000,000) only. We hope to deliver these two vehicles to the Student Fellowship by June 30, 2010.
The Student Fellowship is to contribute one million naira (N1,000,000) only to this project.

4.2 Bus Project Fund: In order to actualise the acquisition of the Hiace bus and Pick-up van, it was agreed that all ECU Alumni is to contribute a minimum of N20,000 (twenty thousand naira only) on or before June 1, 2010.

4.3 Annual Contribution: With effect from January 1, 2010, every ECU Alumnus is to contribute N5,000 per annum to the ECU Alumni Fellowship. We are encouraged to consider the N5,000 as a minimum, we can contribute more as the grace and ability allows.

4.4 Chapter Coordinators: The new Chapter Coordinators are:

Bro. Igudia      -      Ibadan
Bro. Kunle Salami      -      Ado-Ekiti/ Akure
Sis. Ibukun Odusote      -      Abuja
